All in a name..

I am ashamed to say that I have barely written anything down about Avery and his milestones. My child is now three and half.

I was struck yesterday about how grown up he is, when he wrote his name, unassisted on his easel. It was pretty shakey, it took him a while and it was not the way I would have taught him to do his strokes- but he did it carefully and with purpose. I was so proud of him, my heart exploded.

I can't tell you why this thing amongst all others has really struck me. It might have been because of his independant spirit (no helping allowed or pushing), he did it when he was interested and in his own time.
